Why do they even still do the Tour de France? Every year the winner--provided he's not French--gets accused of using drugs, and don't they pretty much all test positive? What's the point?

I'm sure I missed an explanation on this somewhere, but why isn't the famous TB patient protected by HIPAA? Is it because he's a threat to public health or something?

He is covered by HIPAA. His doctors can speak to the press because they have been authorized to do so.

I believe his defense team believes it would be prudent to keep the whole thing an open book as a means of covering his bottom. He's already the defendant in a civil suit.

What they can't do is release information regarding other or past aspects of his health, say, a tonsillectomy in 2005.

I think the class action suit was for something like $3.6 million, and I don't know how many people that's spread over, but they don't get theirs until the lawyers get their cut.

It was seven Canadians (six who were on the plane with him and the coattail rider roommate of one of those) and two Italians, I think.
